Clinical Psychology in Leeds
Clinical psychologists aim to reduce psychological distress and to enhance and promote your emotional and mental well-being.
They work with people having problems with their mental health and are trained to diagnose and treat mental disorders. These include anxiety and mood disorders like depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders like anorexia nervosa, adjustment to a physical illness, serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, childhood behavioural problems and problems with personal and family relationships.
Your psychologist will firstly use a combination of talking, questionnaire and observation to assess you and discuss a treatment plan using talking therapies to manage and alleviate your mental distress.
